Job summary

AlertMedia in Austin, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Social Media Contractor (20 hours/week) to execute content creation, publishing, and community engagement across brand channels. You’ll report to the Social Media Manager and help grow the company’s organic presence.

The role emphasizes strong Canva design, short-form video editing, copywriting, and brand-aligned storytelling. This is a hybrid in-office position with visa sponsorship not offered.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of channel best practices, especially LinkedIn.
• Experience creating social graphics in Canva.
• Experience editing short-form video content.
• Strong copywriting, copyediting, and proofreading skills.
• Experience using social publishing platforms (Sprout Social preferred).
• Attention to detail and organization.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.
• Proactive mindset with willingness to contribute ideas.

Responsibilities

• Create social-first graphics and visual assets for priority channels.
• Repurpose blogs, webinars, reports, and more into social content.
• Write captions and adapt content for each platform.
• Edit short-form videos using Canva or similar tools.
• Publish and manage content across platforms; QA links, UTMs, hashtags.
• Maintain social calendar and assets library; pull performance metrics.
• Monitor comments and respond following guidelines; escalate issues as needed.
