Job summary

University of California, Davis VMTH is seeking a part-time Veterinary Technician to provide critical patient nursing care in a hospital setting, primarily in emergency and critical care. The role involves independent work under supervision, teaching veterinary students, and collaborating with clinicians in a 24-hour teaching hospital.

The position offers on-site work in Davis, CA with a 50% time commitment, evening/night shifts (Thu/Fri 11pm-9:30am) and potential extra shifts; benefits include

Qualifications

• Must obtain a VACSP within 3 months of date of hire.
• No minimum education required.
• Experience independently monitoring and reassessing emergency/critical patients.
• Experience working in a small animal clinic as a veterinary technician/assistant.
• Experience giving medications.
• Experience using patient monitoring equipment.
• Experience drawing blood samples.
• Interpersonal, oral and written communication skills with diverse groups.

Responsibilities

• 65% - Patient nursing care.
