Job summary

River Terrace Retirement Community in Bluffton, IN, and Warsaw Meadows in Warsaw, IN are seeking a compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide speech therapy across both facilities. The role is based at River Terrace with additional coverage at Warsaw Meadows, offering a flexible part-time schedule (20–25 hours/week).

You will evaluate residents, develop individualized plans, and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing, while

Qualifications

• Current Indiana SLP license in good standing.
• Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• CCC-SLP preferred; candidates must meet Indiana licensure requirements.
• Experience in skilled nursing, long-term care, rehabilitation, or geriatric care preferred.
• Strong clinical assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to travel between Bluffton and Warsaw facilities as needed.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate residents' speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing needs.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical assessments and resident goals.
• Provide therapeutic interventions to improve communication, cognition, and swallowing.
• Assess and treat disorders across speech, language, voice, fluency, and cognition.
• Conduct swallowing evaluations and recommend interventions for safe oral intake.
• Monitor progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
• Collaborate with nursing staff, physical, occupational, and dietary teams.
• Educate residents and families on communication strategies and swallowing precautions.
• Complete evaluations, progress notes, discharge summaries accurately and timely.
• Ensure therapy services comply with state and federal regulations and professional standards.
• Promote safety, dignity, and independence throughout rehabilitation.
