Job summary

CCBC is seeking a professional sign language interpreter for campus-based assignments, including classrooms and college events. RID certification and at least three years of experience are required.

The role includes interpreting for deaf faculty, at meetings and events, with hours tracked and scheduled. This is a part-time adjunct position at Catonsville and Essex campuses, offering CCBC benefits where applicable.

Qualifications

• National Certification through the Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf (RID).
• Minimum of three years' experience as a professional sign language interpreter.

Responsibilities

• Serve as designated interpreter to full-time deaf faculty.
• Interpret at annual college events.
• Interpret for college courses taught by deaf faculty.
• Interpret for deaf faculty at committee meetings.
• Interpret for deaf faculty at ad-hoc meetings.
• Keep track of all hours and schedule.
• Team effectively with an agency interpreter when needed.
