Summary

The Pulaski County Public School Board, Virginia is now accepting applications for a Jobasa Part-Time General Education Tutor. Thisposition islocated at CritzerElementarySchool with a maximum of 18 hours per week for 36 weeks.

Job Summary:

Provide appropriate instruction for all assigned students as based on state standards of learning, district guidelines, and school wide expectations. Also included are supervision and maintenance of classroom culture.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
  • Demonstrate the ability to be dependable and punctual.
  • Establish and maintain professionalism within the school community.
  • Seek out professional development opportunities and ensure professional licensure and certifications are renewed prior to expiration.
  • Attend staff meetings and participate in conferences and other trainings to enhance job performance.
  • Plan for and provide appropriate instruction as based on state standards of learning.
  • Provide accommodations and services as documented in individual student plans as deemed by IDEA and 504.
  • Assess and provide remediation for gaps in student achievement.
  • Create and disseminate virtual opportunities for all students as based on district guidelines.
  • Maintain positive communication with colleagues, community members, parents, and students to promote an increase in community engagement in education.
  • Assess and report individual student needs as based on role of mandate reporter.
  • Maintain confidentiality of students in accordance with FERPA (Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act).

Duties/Responsibilities
  • Maintain student data and complete required student reports.
  • Follow school procedures
  • Set a positive example for students with respect to punctuality, dress, language, and behavior.
  • Maintain all equipment used in activities and assure its safe storage.
  • Plan for the safe operation of the afterschool program and the safety of all participants, including accident reports.
  • Maintain a productive behavioral environment for all students.
  • Inform Coordinator of behavioral issues as they arise.
  • Complete all scheduled staff development sessions.
OTHER DUTIES
  • Non-teaching assignments as assigned for the purpose of safety and supervision of campus and students.
