Bishop Gadsden Episcopal Retirement Community on James Island seeks a part-time server in our Assisted Living Culinary Department to provide a positive dining experience for residents. This role emphasizes compassionate service, adherence to dietary needs, teamwork, and a professional appearance; prior food service and interaction with elderly population preferred; high school diploma desired.

Qualifications

• Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills
• Ability to read, write, speak and understand English
• Ability to multi-task and deal with multiple customers at the same time
• Prior food service experience preferred
• Prior working experience and/or interacting with an elderly population preferred

Responsibilities

• Ensure appropriate menus and place settings are on tables.
• Prepare wait station and complete opening side work as assigned.
• Stock and assemble condiments, dry goods, and other items needed for meal service.
• Organize and assemble accurate meal room service trays.
• Understand and adhere to special dietary needs of residents.
• Serve food and beverages to residents in a professional manner.
• Maintain dining room and server areas cleanliness per guidelines.
• Complete closing side work as assigned.
