Job summary

Westfield Senior Housing is seeking an Activities Coordinator to plan and implement diverse resident programs across physical, social, and educational categories. You will encourage involvement, lead events, and coordinate seasonal decorations and community outreach.

Responsibilities include coordinating volunteers, newsletters, marketing events, transportation, and reporting on attendance and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in recreational therapy or similar degree preferred.
• Experience in activity planning with older adults preferred.
• Experience and interest in working with older adults.
• Evidence of creativity.
• Demonstrated organizational skills.
• Mature, pleasant, friendly and cheerful personality.

Responsibilities

• Plan and implement activities in physical, social, recreational, intellectual/educational, creative, entertainment, service/volunteering and special requests of residents.
• Invite and remind residents to participate in planned activities.
• Promote activities to pique residents' interest.
• Conduct/Lead activities as needed.
• Coordinate decoration of the facility for events, seasons and holidays.
• Identify and requisition needed supplies for planned activities.
• Coordinate with kitchen staff use of kitchen.
• Assist with planning and implementing marketing events for recruitment.
• Develop a monthly newsletter, solicit resident involvement.
• Coordinate schedule for company vehicle.
• Maintain a schedule for use of common areas.
• Arrange transportation for activity outings and group trips.
• Recruit resident volunteers and train them.
• Establish and carry out a resident volunteer recognition program.
• Maintain and update closed circuit TV system.
• Meet new tenants within 2 weeks of move-in to review interests.
• Maintain statistics of program attendance and develop reports.
