Job summary

City of Avondale is seeking a Senior Programs Driver in the Neighborhood & Family Services Department. The role delivers meals, checks on participants, and provides transportation for seniors and homebound individuals in Avondale, AZ.

The position is part-time, with a schedule from Monday to Thursday, roughly 11:00 AM to 3:30 PM, and occasional extended hours. A valid Arizona driver's license and a year of customer service experience with seniors are required or preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent required.
• Valid Arizona Driver's License required.
• One year of customer service experience with seniors.
• Bilingual Spanish language skills preferred.
• Ability to read and understand written instructions and operate basic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meals to homebound individuals in a timely manner.
• Perform wellness checks and report observations to senior staff.
• Safely transport program participants to and from the center.
• Complete required daily logs and reports.
• Monitor food temperatures and delivery times according to guidelines.
• Inspect the vehicle daily and report any repair issues.
• Provide safe, reliable transportation and load meals into the vehicle.
