Job summary

Community Action Partnership of Central Illinois is seeking a Nutrition Meal & Delivery Driver to pack and deliver meals to customers with attention to temperature, safety, and customer service. Hours are 10-15 per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, with potential for extra shifts.

The role requires a Food Handler or Food Manager certification, a valid driver’s license, and reliable transportation. Light lifting is required; training and supplies will be provided.

Qualifications

• Must have or be willing to obtain a Food Handler certificate
• Valid driver license and ability to provide MVR if applicable
• Reliable and insured transportation
• Willingness to travel within service area as needed

Responsibilities

• Accurately count milk units to meet delivery route requirements.
• Accurately count meals to meet delivery route requirements as recorded by the Nutrition/Transportation Services Director.
• Ensure meals are packed to maintain temperatures during delivery.
• Coordinate deliveries for efficient service.
• Distribute envelopes weekly for donations to seniors.
• Submit lockboxes to Fiscal Office after each route.
• Document the temperature readings of the vehicle every Friday.
• Clean and sanitize delivery bags after routes.
• Complete and submit route paperwork to the Nutrition/Transportation Services Director.
• Report health or wellness concerns to the Director immediately.
• Assist Director as needed.
• Maintain positive rapport with site contacts.
• Serve meals and lead social activities at designated sites.
• Distribute and document nutrition education materials in a timely manner.
• Provide a friendly face and regular customer contact.
• Attend meetings to ensure good communication with the Director.
• Keep delivery vehicle clean and sanitary daily.
• Notify when vehicle is due for maintenance or repairs.
• Break down packing area boxes for disposal.
• Perform other duties to support the organization's mission.
