Heartwood is seeking a fun, energetic person to plan and run stimulating programs for residents, including crafts, games, and entertainment. Training will be provided to become a certified nursing assistant.

This part-time, union position requires eight shifts every two weeks, including every other weekend, with a day shift and two evenings per month. Responsibilities include developing and evaluating activity programs, monitoring resident involvement, and assisting with individual or group

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or related.
• Valid MN Driver’s license and pass DOT physical within 60 days of hire.
• Registered Nursing Assistant certification or able to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Willing to work evenings and weekends as needed.
• Adapt resources to meet situations.
• Maintain confidentiality with information.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs at Heartwood.
• Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and involvement; chart progress.
• Assist residents with activities of their choice, group, individual or one-on-one.
• Provide resident leisure life activities.
• Organize and transport residents, assuring safety during activities.
• Maintain knowledge of residents' condition and report changes.
• Perform miscellaneous tasks for residents (shopping, errands, reading/writing letters).
• Provide one-on-one interaction based on preferences.
• Assist Resident Assistants with transporting residents, feeding, and personal care needs.
