Job summary

Grand Traverse County is seeking a part-time homemaking aide to provide in-home services to clients of the Commission on Aging. Duties include cleaning, laundry, and household tasks, performed as part of a team to meet service objectives.

Requires basic English, ability to work independently, and a valid driver’s license with personal vehicle insurance. CPR certification is required, and background checks may be conducted.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or G.E.D. preferred but not required.
• Some house cleaning experience required.
• Requires a valid driver’s license and personal vehicle insurance and must maintain eligibility to drive as per the County's Vehicle policy.

Responsibilities

• Dusts, vacuums, sweeps and mops floors.
• Makes beds and shakes small rugs.
• Washes dishes, cleans and disinfects kitchen counters, sinks, bathtubs and toilets.
• Cleans refrigerator, stove and cupboards.
• Washes, dries, folds, and puts away laundry.
• Washes walls and inside windows.
• Interacts with clients and reports concerns to a supervisor.
• Performs as a mandated reporter when appropriate.
• Maintains accurate records of client services.
