Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer (Part Time) in Orlando, FL to provide screening and access control at a correctional facility. You will screen individuals and belongings, maintain logs, and respond to incidents with professional poise.

This on-site role offers a flexible part-time schedule and opportunities for growth within a supportive security team. The position requires 18+ (21+ for armed roles), a HS diploma or equivalent, and successful background checks and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Background investigation conducted as required by law.
• Drug screening required as a condition of employment.
• Licensing requirements may apply depending on state/local laws.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to visitors, staff, and individuals entering the correctional facility by carrying out site-specific screening procedures and policies.
• Screen individuals and their belongings using designated screening equipment and established protocols; report prohibited items and irregularities to appropriate personnel.
• Control access at assigned entry points by verifying authorization, maintaining required logs, and directing individuals according to facility procedures.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following post orders and emergency response procedures.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas and nearby perimeter locations, documenting observations and reporting security-related concerns.
