Job summary

The Mississippi Aquarium seeks a vigilant Security Officer to uphold safety and security standards across the facility. You will report to the Director of Safety and Security and collaborate with local agencies as needed.

Responsibilities include monitoring security programs, maintaining incident records, assisting with safety audits, and providing guest and staff assistance while ensuring adherence to OSHA, NFPA, AZA, and ADA requirements.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in risk management preferred.
• OSHA, SDS, ADA knowledge a plus.

Responsibilities

• Document and monitor safety and security issues and ensure compliance with policies.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, safety audits, and applicable regulations.
• Maintain incident, accident, and injury records in company databases.
• Assist in investigations and legal prep related to safety incidents.
• Provide training on safety and security systems as needed.
• Collaborate with HR for accommodations under ADA.
• Occasionally respond to incidents and coordinate with local agencies.
