Position Purpose:

Under the supervision of the Director of Security, patrols assigned areas to protect persons and property. Must be at least 19 years old. The position pays $15 per hour.

Position Duties:

• Tours buildings and property, checking doors, windows, and gates for security.
• Inspects for signs of intrusion, utility interruptions, suspicious activity, and hazards.
• Checks fire alarms, extinguishers, CCTV, and access control systems for tampering.
• Responds to alarms, investigates disturbances, and contacts authorities as needed.
• Assists with lockout situations involving students or staff.
• Locks and unlocks doors as scheduled.
• Assists visitors and the public with campus issues.
• Writes reports and maintains a daily log.
• Maintains confidentiality of security information.

Qualifications:

• Previous security experience preferred.
• First Aid and CPR certification a plus.
• Ability to walk 30-40 minutes per hour during shifts.
• Climb up to three flights of stairs.
• Work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Correctable vision to 20/20.
• Normal hearing ability.
• Proficient in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Good moral character.
