Job summary

Allied Universal in Canton, MS is seeking a Security Officer Routine Patrol for a part-time role. You will be unarmed, monitor the facility, conduct patrols, manage access control, respond to alarms, and deliver strong customer service using tablet tools.

Qualifications

• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs is preferred.
• Comfort using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Alarm panel experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation.
• Allied Universal may consider qualified applicants with criminal histories as allowed by law.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen.
• Licensing requirements may be required.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel at a technology, media, and telecommunications location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of the facility, grounds, parking areas, entry points, and perimeter to help identify and report unusual conditions, hazards, and unauthorized activity.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity, verify authorization in accordance with site procedures, and maintain accurate security-related logs and incident documentation.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicating observations to site contacts and emergency responders as needed.
• Support a professional workplace environment by providing directions, reporting maintenance or access-control concerns, and following Allied Universal and client site requirements.
