Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a vigilant Security Officer to support client sites with professional, courteous service and adherence to access-control procedures. This part-time role is based in Martinsburg, WV, working weekends with potential to expand shift opportunities. Pay is $17.46/hour.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Guard Card/License preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check required by law.
• Drug screen required.
• Licensing requirements vary by state/local laws.
• Valid driver's license for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to clients, visitors, and delivery personnel while carrying out site-specific procedures and security-related screening requirements at a logistics and distribution location.
• Screen employees, visitors, contractors, packages, and/or personal belongings in accordance with established access-control and screening procedures.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, and document visitor, vehicle, and screening activity as required.
• Respond to alarms, incidents, prohibited-item discoveries, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner; notify appropriate site contacts and/or emergency personnel.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of screening areas, loading zones, facility grounds, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify security-related concerns.
