Job summary

Allied Universal, Detroit, MI, is seeking a Security Officer Enhanced Part Time Patrol Deterrence to provide patient and guest security in healthcare settings with fixed anchor shifts and an Earn More, Claim-A-Shift program. The pay rate is $18.35 per hour with morning and other shifts at the Detroit site.

This role offers part-time hours, a six-month anchor shift commitment, and opportunities to pick up additional shifts across sites, potentially scaling to a fuller schedule while remaining

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ years for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to patients, visitors, staff, and other guests by following site-specific policies, security-related procedures, and applicable emergency response activities in a healthcare setting.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of hospital buildings, entrances, parking areas, and surrounding perimeter to help identify unusual conditions and deter unauthorized activity.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, coordinating with appropriate personnel and emergency responders as needed.
• Monitor access points and visitor activity in accordance with facility procedures, assisting with directions and maintaining awareness of restricted areas.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and promptly in accordance with Allied Universal and site requirements.
