Job summary

Allied Universal is seeking a Security Officer – Enhanced Part Time in Philadelphia, PA. This role provides flexible, dependable part-time hours with fixed anchor shifts and optional additional shifts to increase earnings.

You will perform unarmed patrols, assist visitors, and respond calmly to incidents while upholding site policies and a welcoming presence. Training and benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional customer service to visitors, staff, and vendors while carrying out site‑specific procedures and security‑related policies within a cultural institution.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of galleries, public areas, exterior grounds, entrances, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and report unusual conditions.
• Assist with visitor access, directions, and adherence to museum rules, while maintaining a professional and welcoming presence.
• Respond to incidents, alarms, medical situations, and other critical events in a calm, problem‑solving manner, following established emergency response procedures.
• Document observations, incidents, and patrol activities accurately and communicate relevant information to site leadership and appropriate personnel.
