Allied Universal in Plainfield, NJ seeks a Security Officer - Part Time Enhanced to provide reliable coverage at a residential site, handle front desk duties, control access, and respond to incidents per site procedures. This role emphasizes dependable hours, customer service, and professional presence.

The position offers fixed anchor shifts with the option to pick up additional shifts via our scheduling platform, allowing you to earn more while gaining experience across sites.

Qualifications

• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service to residents, visitors, and staff by carrying out site‑specific security‑related procedures, access‑control practices, and emergency response activities as appropriate.
• Monitor the front desk, greet visitors, verify authorization, issue visitor credentials, and maintain visitor and incident logs in accordance with site policies.
• Respond to resident concerns, incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem‑solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel and/or emergency services when needed.
• Observe activity in the lobby and entry areas, report unusual conditions or policy violations, and help to deter unauthorized access to the residential location.
• Answer phones, provide directions and general information, receive deliveries according to site procedures, and communicate professionally with residents, visitors, and property staff.
