Job summary

Viatris is seeking a Security Officer for the 11PM–7AM shift at our Moon, VA site. The role focuses on enforcing security policies, controlling access, monitoring CCTV and alarm systems, and supporting contract security staff. A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in law enforcement or military preferred, with 0–2 years of security experience, is required.

Fluency in English is essential. Candidates must be able to stand/walk and lift as needed, and be flexible to cover other shifts.

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) with a specialization in law enforcement or military preferred.
• 0-2 years of military, law enforcement or security experience required.
• Valid Driver’s License for 2 years prior to application.
• May be required to stand, walk, stoop; bend; kneel; and climb steps; lifting may be required.
• 3rd Shift 11PM-7AM with flexibility to cover other shifts.
• Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English.

Responsibilities

• Ensure employees’ act in accordance with accepted security policies, procedures, and programs.
• Direct traffic on company premise and enforce parking regulations.
• Assist the contract security staff and respond to any questions they may have.
• Control visitor, contractor, and vendor access to Viatris’ property.
• Monitor Viatris’ Access Control System and Closed-Circuit Television System.
• Respond to alarm conditions.
• Complete and pass the “Security Identification Display Area” (SIDA) Security Testing and training from the National Air Transportation Association annually.
• Alert immediately the Manager of Security of any problems encountered on Viatris property.
• Complete and submit daily forms, reports and checklists.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Possess a profound understanding of confidentiality, integrity and loyalty.

The minimum qualifications for this role are:

• Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) with a specialization in law enforcement or military preferred. 0-2 years of military, law enforcement or security experience is required. Related experience and/or education may be considered.
• Significant law enforcement and/or military experience will be evaluated on a case by case basis in lieu of a formal Bachelor's degree to meet the immediate needs of the organization.
• Valid Driver’s License for 2 years prior to the date of application.
• May be required to stand, walk, stoop; bend; kneel; and climb steps. May require use of hands and arms to lift and scoop.
• This role is for 3rd Shift 11PM-7AM. This person must have flexibility to cover other shifts periodically if the need arises.
• Proficiency in speaking, comprehending, reading and writing English is required.
