Job summary

Allen County is seeking a part-time Security and Information Officer to monitor and secure public areas inside the building and surrounding perimeter. You will support safety for employees and visitors under the Operations Manager, with duties including incident reporting and coordination with local authorities when needed.

The role requires vigilance, confidentiality, and the ability to use radio communications; CPR/AED certification is required or may be obtained.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• One year of security or law enforcement experience preferred.
• Knowledge of evidence collection and preservation techniques.
• Ability to manage potentially violent individuals calmly and decisively.
• Must maintain strict confidentiality of County and City information.
• Proficient use of a 2-way radio.
• CPR/AED and First Aid certification required or pending.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and secure all hallways and public areas within the building.
• Watch security checkpoints and the building perimeter for threats.
• Ensure the safety of employees and visitors during operating hours and secure the building nightly.
• Observe and report suspicious activity to the Operations Manager.
• Prepare detailed incident reports promptly.
• Validate County employee parking and document accordingly.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
