Job summary

Securitas Security Services USA, Inc. in Grand Island, NE is seeking a Security Officer to help maintain a safe environment by enforcing rules, providing access control, and patrolling a variety of client sites. The role emphasizes vigilance, teamwork, and customer service.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 18 or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above-average computer/technology skills.
• Security, law enforcement, or military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and strong written communication skills.
• Must be able to work independently and stay calm under pressure.
• Must pass pre-employment screening including drug screen and background check.
• Must be diver certified.

Responsibilities

• Identify and report safety issues or hazards.
• Identify and report suspicious activity.
• Follow post orders and complete assigned rounds.
• Provide customer service and information to employees and guests.
• Utilize technology devices during shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Call the corporate office every 2 hours to check-in.
• Communicate with shipping/receiving about oncoming trucks.
• Check identification and verify bill of lading paperwork.
• Inform visitors of site safety rules.
• Remote monitor CCTV entries/exits.
• Carry out tasks of similar nature as required.

Our Security helps maintain a safe and secure environment for our clients by actively monitoring the premises, including access control and patrolling a variety of locations. They preserve order while enforcing regulations and directives for our client sites pertaining to personnel, visitors, and the area.

What You Can Expect

• Conflict resolution and de-escalation.
• Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, or any suspicious activity.
• Ensure that all post orders are followed and assigned rounds are completed.
• Provide customer service and information to the client’s employees and guests.
• Utilizing technology devices throughout shift.
• Conduct tours of the property.
• Must call the corporate office every 2 hours to check-in.

Basic Requirements

• 18 years of age or older.
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Above average computer / technology skills needed.
• Security, Law Enforcement, or Military experience a plus.
• Excellent customer service and team leadership skills needed.
• Must be able to work independently.
• Must be able to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
• Must have great attention to detail and remain vigilant throughout shift.
• Must have a professional demeanor.
• Must be able to respond to emergencies with rapid / effective judgment and use appropriate escalation.
• All candidates must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including drug screen and background investigation.
• Strong communication skills needed.
• Excellent writing skills needed.
• Must be diver certified.
