Illinois State University invites applicants to join a pool of supervisors for History and Social Science teacher candidates. These part-time, non-tenure-track positions support student teaching across Central Illinois and Chicagoland and are filled as vacancies arise during the year.

The supervisor observes on-site, provides formal assessments, and collaborates with Cooperating Teachers and ISU faculty to evaluate professional growth and final grades, with regular online communication

Qualifications

• Master's degree in teaching or relevant field.
• At least three years of history and/or social science classroom teaching experience in a middle school or high school classroom or related professional experience.
• Candidates must be able to demonstrate oral proficiency in English as required by state law.

Responsibilities

• Observe student teachers on-site and provide formal assessments.
• Mentor and coordinate with Cooperating Teachers and ISU faculty.
• Maintain regular online communication with supervisor schools and ISU during the semester.
• Contribute to the final grade for teacher candidates.
