Job description

Part-time Seattle-Area Estate Planning Attorney Needed – $150.00 - $200.00/hour

Requirements:

  • Washington licensed attorney in good standing, with no discipline in any state.
  • Lead attorney position: must be a self-starter who can run all aspects of their cases.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ estate planning experience; strong knowledge of Washington trusts and estates law. Must have excellent estate plan drafting skills.
  • We are not looking for “casual” estate planning attorneys. The successful candidate will have drafted many estate plans (with trusts) within the last year or so. On average, the successful candidate will have done 2-10 estate plans PER MONTH for the last year or so.
  • Estate administration skills (probate) a strong plus for the candidate, as well as Medicaid and special needs planning experience.These are not required but strongly desired.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be very responsive and empathetic to clients. Must be able to respond to clients directly, quickly, and thoroughly when contacted.
  • Detail-oriented with very strong organizational skills.
  • Candidate located (resides) within reasonable travel distance to Seattle, Redmond, and/or other surrounding areas. Candidate must be able to meet with clients in those areas (generally) if needed, especially for signings. If the candidate has an office in the area and can meet with clients there for signings, this will be considered a strong bonus if all other criteria are met.
  • Candidate should also be a notary or willing to become a notary soon after onboarding.
  • Candidate will likely have the opportunity to do estate plans for clients in other areas of Washington.

Duties:

  • The successful candidate will possess the skills and desire to run all aspects of their cases and handle a wide variety of estate planning matters for a diverse population of clients.
  • No minimum billed-hours requirement.
  • Must be able to work remotely.
  • Knowledge of Clio legal software a plus.
  • Knowledge of Gavel software a plus.
  • Additional practice areas may be available for work: probate, real estate, family law, criminal law, general civil litigation, and others.

Job Type – Part Time

Pay: $150.00 - $200.00/hr. The estate planning work is paid at flat fee rates and dependent on what documents are produced for the client. On average, this generates $150.00-$200.00/hr for the attorney.

Expected hours: 5-20 per week

Benefits: Flexible schedule, remote work other than executions for estate plans (but possible to do remote executions as well).

Ability to relocate:

Seattle, Redmond, and/or other surrounding areas (or reasonable distance to these areas). Must be relocated prior to starting work (required).

Work Location: remote unless required for in-person duties, such as estate plan executions in the Seattle, Redmond, and/or other surrounding areas.
