VDCI is currently hiring for a Part-Time Seasonal Mosquito Spray Truck Driver in the Green Cove Springs, FL area.

What do our Mosquito Spray Truck Drivers do?

The primary purpose of this role is to be responsible for safely and effectively operating a mosquito control spray truck as part of an integrated mosquito management program. At VDCI, we focus on preventing the spread of diseases through mosquito control, including mosquito surveillance, preventative services, and large-scale spraying.

Compensation and Schedule

• This position pays $13.00 per hour.
• The work schedule is from sundown to completion, Monday through Friday, with some weekends.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Thoroughly spray assigned zones as instructed by the contract supervisor.
• Properly use GPS monitor equipment nightly, report malfunctions immediately.
• Accurately record all required data from each spray mission.
• Handle all chemicals according to label specifications, knowing all applicable chemical labels and SDS.
• Follow safety and spill procedures at all times, using all required PPE.
• Operate all equipment safely and properly.
• Support and enforce company safety policies.
• React promptly to changes and perform other essential tasks as assigned.
• Work outdoors, potentially exposed to weather, terrain, pesticides, noise, insects, plants, and animals.
• Lift and handle items weighing up to 50 pounds.
• Operate a motor vehicle safely and maintain equipment cleanliness.

Essential Job Functions

• Comfort with self-directed work after training.

Minimum Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, related experience, or equivalent.
• Pass pre-employment background check.
• Valid driver’s license and driving record check.
• Strong reading, writing, and communication skills.
• Basic math skills for mixing products.
• Maintain necessary licenses/certificates as required.
• Customer-facing experience preferred.
