Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Seasonal Kettle Driver in Aurora, Colorado. This role transports kettles, stands, signs, volunteers and donations for the Christmas Red Kettle Campaign.

Schedule is no more than 29 hours per week, Monday–Friday, with weekends and holidays as needed. The Driver will deliver and pick up kettles and supplies, ensure proper site setup, and transport bell ringers as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
  • Ability to pass a background check.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation and punctual attendance.
  • Supportive of The Salvation Army's mission.
  • Able to reflect and model the organization's high standards.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver and pick up Red Kettles, stands, signs, and supplies at assigned locations.
  • Ensure kettle locations are set up according to Salvation Army standards.
  • Transport bell ringers to and from kettle locations, as needed.
  • Monitor assigned kettle sites and respond to operational needs.
  • Collect and safeguard kettle donations following established procedures.
  • Complete required paperwork, mileage logs, and donation tracking forms.
  • Maintain regular communication with the Kettle Coordinator.
  • Report accidents, incidents, safety concerns, or equipment issues immediately.
  • Assist with emergency coverage at kettle locations when necessary.
  • Represent The Salvation Army in a professional, courteous, and Christ-centered manner.

Rate of Pay: $18-$20/hour

Position Summary

Requirements
  • Driving
    • The employee must be 21 years old at a minimum (for insurance provision) and possess a valid in-state driver's license
    • An MVR will be processed every year in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies
  • Background Check
    • Continued employment will be contingent upon a biennial (every two years) background check that is processed in accordance with The Salvation Army's policies
  • Physical
    • Ability to maneuver, to remain in a stationary position, to grasp, push, pull, and reach overhead, to lift 25 pounds, to access and produce information from the computer, to operate a telephone, to understand written information
    • Qualified individuals must be able to perform the essential duties of the position with or without accommodation. A request to modify or adjust these requirements may be made to your supervisor and HR.
