The Henry M. Jackson Foundation for the Advancement of Military Medicine, Inc. is seeking a Part-Time Scientist II to develop and supervise research projects at Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton/MCAGCC.

The role involves investigating a wide range of scientific principles to advance inventions, products, and problems, and developing new technologies and protocols. Up to 13 hours per week, with limited benefits beyond sick leave.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of environmental and clinical assessment protocols, including neurological, neurocognitive and neurophysiological assessment procedures and techniques.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Ability to supervise, coordinate and lead a team in data collection events in military range, ensuring strict respect for all scientific, regulatory and safety criteria, and in proper coordination with the relevant military leadership.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical procedures.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/Public Trust background check.

Responsibilities

• Plans, executes, and oversees clinical research.
• Formulates experimental hypotheses and designs clinical protocols.
• Monitors scientific literature.
• Prepares written reports and manuscripts for submission to scientific journals and prepares patent applications.
• Coordinates and prepares new grant and funding applications.
• Processes and interprets experimental data.
• Trains and supervises technical staff.
• May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned or directed by the supervisor.
