Job summary

Second Baptist School University-Model® (SBSUM) seeks a part-time science faculty to teach in the dual credit program with Houston Christian University (HCU). This role serves as both SBSUM instructor and HCU adjunct professor across multiple campuses (Fulshear, Cypress, Memorial, North).

The faculty member will design lessons, assess student progress, and collaborate to support student success in alignment with high school and college standards.

Qualifications

• A master’s degree from an accredited institution is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and/or deliver lesson plans and instructional materials in accordance with SBSUM and HCU standards.
• Communicate clearly to, and work closely with, parents and school administration to promote educational excellence.
• Manage student behavior in the classroom and maintain biblical discipline standards in accordance with the rules and disciplinary systems of SBSUM.
• Update all necessary records accurately and completely.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and development to provide appropriate feedback.
• Establish and communicate clear objectives for all learning activities.
• Assign and grade classwork, homework, tests and assignments in a timely manner.
• Obtain information for parents when requested, promptly return phone calls and answer emails.
• Participate in appropriate professional activities.
• Comply with all SBSUM, Second Baptist School and Second Baptist Church policies and procedures.
• Attend all required meetings/training: parent conferences, faculty meetings, devotions, school functions and training, as well as other scheduled events.
• Supervise co-curricular activities, organizations, and outings as assigned.
