Job summary

First Student is hiring a Part Time School Van Driver in Northbrook, IL. You will transport students to and from school and activities, start mornings with pickup, and return them safely in the afternoon.

Field trips and events may add hours; no experience is required and training is provided to help you become a safe, professional driver. Qualified applicants are expected to be at least 21, hold a valid driver's license for 3+ years, and enjoy working with students.

Qualifications

• No prior experience required.
• Ability to pass training and safety instructions.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport students to and from school and activities.
• Supervise boarding and unloading at stops; assist students with seatbelts and mobility aids.
• Maintain order on the vehicle to prevent distractions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections (brakes, lights, tires, emergency exits).
• Report mechanical issues promptly and keep the vehicle clean and sanitary.
• Obey all traffic laws and company safety standards.
• Communicate with parents, school staff, and dispatch about student behavior or delays.
• Demonstrate leadership and customer service skills.
