Job summary

Bloom Carroll Local Schools is seeking a Transportation Aide (Non-Instructional) to support pupil transport services. This role ensures safe loading and unloading, helps secure students in seats and wheelchair slots, and supports the bus driver throughout daily routes.

The position requires a High School Diploma, a valid driver's license, and the ability to manage student behavior with patience. Willingness to learn routes and assist with evacuation drills is essential.

Qualifications

• General knowledge of student transportation is preferred.
• Ability to assist students with patience and understanding.
• Ability to establish and maintain positive working relationships with officials, parents, and students.

Responsibilities

• Assist with transportation of pupils to and from school, helping the bus driver.
• Ensure all passengers, including those in wheelchairs or with braces, are secured in seats or wheelchair slots.
• Assist students boarding and leaving the bus and help control behavior.
• Learn routes, schedules, and pickup points; assist substitute drivers with directions.
• Assist drivers with bus evacuation drills and keeping the bus interior clean.
