Job summary

Southeast Alamance High School in Haw River, NC is hiring for a Custodian/Traffic Director (2026-2027). The role is part-time, Monday–Friday, up to 20 hours per week, for 10 months per year, with hourly pay of 17.38 for Custodian and 16.55 for Traffic Director.

The position reports to the Principal and Director of Transportation, requires a high school diploma or GED, a valid NC driver's license, and aims to maintain student safety during loading, unloading and crosswalk crossings; CPR/First Aid

Qualifications

• Education and experience equivalent to a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Valid driver's license issued by the NC DMV.
• CPR/First Aid training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor traffic flow to assist traffic onto and off ABSS properties.
• Direct vehicular movement using signs, flags, lanterns, and hand signals.
• Guide or control vehicular and pedestrian traffic on streets/highways.
• Report unsafe behavior of students to school administrators.
• Record license numbers of vehicles disregarding traffic signals.
• Sweep, mop, vacuum floors and perform basic custodial tasks.
