Job summary

Field Elementary is seeking a Crossing Guard/Non-Instructional Assistant for Cafeteria and/or Playground to help keep students safe during lunch and outdoor activities. This part-time role requires monitoring, student guidance, and timely reporting of any incidents to school staff.

The position offers 22.5 hours per week at $16.56 per hour, with no benefits. Performance pay is available annually and new hire experience/education incentives are described in the notice.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience working with and/or supervising children.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the activities of students in the cafeteria and/or on the playground
• Counsel and/or intervene with students to ensure acceptable behavior
• Report observations and/or incidents relating to students to appropriate school personnel
• Respond to emergency situations to address immediate safety concerns
• Assist students during lunchtime
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (clean up spills on tables, floor, etc.)
• Regular and on-time attendance required
• Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit
• Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and Mesa Public Schools
