Job summary

Longfellow Elementary School is seeking a Non-Instructional Assistant for Cafeteria and/or Playground, Part-Time. You will monitor student activities in the cafeteria and on the playground to ensure safety and welfare and communicate observations to school staff.

Responsibilities include counseling and intervening with students, reporting incidents, assisting during lunchtime, and performing light cleaning.

Qualifications

• High School education or equivalent required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Experience working with and/or supervising children.

Responsibilities

• Monitor cafeteria and playground activities to ensure student safety.
• Counsel or intervene to enforce acceptable behavior.
• Report observations or incidents to school personnel.
• Respond to emergencies to address safety concerns.
• Assist students during lunchtime.
• Perform routine cleaning tasks (clean spills on tables/floor).
• Regular and on-time attendance required.
• Assist with other assigned duties to support the work unit.
• Assist with other area duties as appropriate.
