Amergis Healthcare Staffing is seeking a School Registered Nurse (RN) for a part-time contract in Newtown, CT. The RN will manage nursing processes and student care, supporting students’ physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing in a school setting.

Responsibilities include responding to emergencies, managing chronic conditions, and coordinating with families, school staff and healthcare providers per policy and physician orders. Requires active RN license and preferred bachelor’s degree.

Qualifications

• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of employment.
• Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
• School Nurse Certification as required by state or contract.
• One year of school nursing, public health or pediatric experience, preferred.
• Complies with all relevant professional standards of practice.
• Current CPR if applicable.
• TB questionnaire, PPD or chest x-ray if applicable.
• Current Health certificate (per contract or state regulation).
• Must meet all federal, state and local requirements.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsabilités

• The School RN oversees the application of the nursing process and the delivery of student care in a school setting.
• Supports the physical, mental and emotional well-being of students within the school setting.
• Promotes health and safety, responds to medical emergencies, manages chronic conditions and liaises with families, staff and healthcare providers.
• Provides services in accordance with Amergis’ philosophy, standards, policies and physician orders.
