Job summary

Spectrum 360 A NJ Non Profit Corp. is seeking a Part-Time Paraprofessional at St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Edison, NJ. This role supports instructional goals and assists students under the supervision of the teacher.

Requirements include a High School Diploma, basic computer skills, good interpersonal abilities, and the ability to pass a background check with English language proficiency. The position offers up to 29.5 hours per week with hourly pay of $21.65.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Preferred experience with children in a school setting.
• Good organizational skills.
• Basic knowledge of computer applications and email.
• Good interpersonal skills with children and adults.
• Ability to pass a criminal history check and show proof of US Citizenship or legal resident status.
• Ability to communicate and have command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with tasks such as moving between rooms and using the lavatory.
• Perform simple errands for students (e.g., sharpening pencils, carrying meals).
• Work with teacher to help students reach instructional goals and milestones.
• Under supervision, reinforce material introduced by the teacher.
• Accompany students between classes and around the building.
• Support students in achieving academic, social, and emotional goals.
• Maintain professional relationships with students and staff.
• Maintain attendance, appearance and punctuality.
• Assist students with physical limitations as needed.
• Assist with student bus routines at start and end of day.
• Perform tasks as assigned by supervisor.
