Job summary

Nogales Unified School District #1 is seeking an Occupational Therapist to assess students' functional development and provide targeted treatment. The position is for one day a week during the school year and reports to the Student Services Director.

Responsibilities include identifying needs through assessments, consulting with teachers and families, developing plans for services and documenting IEP evaluations.

Qualifications

• Analytical skills and applying assessment instruments.
• Interpersonal skills and verbal and written communication.
• Preparing and maintaining accurate records.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful; stages of child development.

Responsibilities

• Assesses students' fine motor and development skills for determining deficits and developing recommendations.
• Consults with teachers, parents, and other personnel to provide information and develop service plans.
• Instructs students, parents and school staff for implementing remediation plans; prepares IEP reports/evaluations.
• Researches resources and methods to address students' functional goals.
• Screens/evaluates students to determine need for further assessment and IEP compliance.
• Performs other related duties to ensure efficient functioning.
• Presents information to gain feedback and ensure internal controls.
