Job summary

Independent School District 196 in Rosemount, MN is seeking a Nutrition Services Associate to support the school meal program during the daily lunch and breakfast service. This part-time role runs 4.5 hours per day during the school day, with duties directed by the Food Service Manager and a focus on accurate meal counting and safe food handling.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED required.
• Basic arithmetic, reading, and writing skills.
• Able to lift up to 40 pounds and stand for 3–6 hours.
• Experience in school foodservice helpful.
• Must complete Serve Safe course and pass exam within 1 year of hire.
• Previous knowledge of POS preferred.
• Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
• Experience with diverse school communities preferred.

Responsibilities

• Comply with food service manager's instruction on production, preparation, and service of food.
• Comply with department standards to account for meals (reimbursement and ala carte sales).
• Comply with food service manager's instruction on clean-up of kitchen, serving area, cafeteria and dishroom.
• Comply with standards of safety in handling, preparation, storing and serving food.
• Work on computerized point of sale equipment to process students through breakfast and lunch lines.
• Work efficiently and cooperate with other employees.
• Attend job-related training classes and workshops.
• Interact with students in a positive and professional manner.
• Other duties as assigned.
