Job summary

GOMPERS - JOLIET, Illinois is seeking a part-time Food Service Assistant (Cook) to support high-volume meal preparation for students and staff. Responsibilities include cooking, packing, serving meals, cashier duties, and maintaining kitchen sanitation.

Qualifications include a HS diploma or GED, 1 year of production experience, English fluency, and the ability to operate kitchen equipment. Will County sanitation certification is required within one year.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED or equivalent.
• Minimum of one year production experience in a high-volume institutional or commercial food service.
• Knowledge of high-volume institutional recipes and production methods.
• Ability to operate kitchen equipment properly.
• Fluent reading, writing and speaking English.
• Must obtain Will County sanitation certificate within one year of employment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook high-quality meals for students and staff.
• Pack meals for transport and serve meals in cafeteria.
• Handle cashier duties and maintain proper meal accounting.
• Perform dishwashing, cleaning, sweeping, mopping and catered events as required.
• Maintain sanitary conditions in production and serving areas.
