Job summary

Mandan Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Food Service Assistant for the Mandan, ND kitchens, following the school calendar. You will assist in basic food preparation, serve meals, clean work areas, and help maintain sanitary conditions.

Hours are 9:00 am to 1:45 pm, 23.75 hours per week, with a wage range of $18.87 to $21.67 per hour. Non-Exempt status applies, and a state driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices for food preparation and service.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and procedures.
• Customer service and public relations practices.

Responsibilities

• Assist kitchen staff with basic food preparation and presentation in compliance with policies and safety standards.
• Clean dining areas and maintain sanitary conditions in food service spaces.
• Clean kitchen equipment, utensils, and storage areas to meet health standards.
• Prepare dining areas for meals and serve meals or snacks as directed.
• Operate a service terminal, collect payments, and balance accounts if required.
• Interact courteously with students, staff, and the public while maintaining confidentiality.
