Job summary

Greenspring Montessori School is seeking a compassionate, organized Part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for immediate hire to support student and staff health services. The School Nurse will manage daily medical needs and collaborate with families and educators to maintain a safe, nurturing learning environment.

The position is 10 months, 2 days per week, with potential for additional hours when needed and it is a non-benefited role.

Qualifications

• Valid Maryland RN license.
• Graduate of an accredited RN program.
• Minimum of 2 years’ RN experience.
• Pediatric/school/child care experience preferred.
• Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Must pass all required background checks and meet school health/safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide first aid and direct care to students and staff.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed.
• Maintain accurate student health records and ensure immunization/health screening compliance.
• Monitor and support students with chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, allergies, diabetes).
• Communicate with families regarding health concerns or incidents.
• Support infection control practices and respond to illness-related issues as needed.
• Utilize Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems confidently.
• Observe students’ emotional well-being and collaborate with staff to support social-emotional needs.
• This is a 10-month, 2 days per week with a potential for additional hours when RN is unable to work.
• This is a non-benefited position.
