Job summary

Aransas Pass ISD is seeking a Substitute School Nurse (RN) or (LVN) to provide direct health services on campus. You will implement the district health program, develop IHPs, and coordinate with parents, staff, and healthcare providers to ensure student safety and well-being.

The role requires RN or LVN licensure in Texas or an NLC-state, CPR/AED certification, and at least 3 years of nursing experience. This is a part-time position with on-site responsibilities and duties across campuses.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited professional nursing education program.
• RN license in Texas or NLC state.
• LVN license valid.
• AED and CPR certifications current.
• Knowledge of health appraisal and first aid.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care using nursing process and IHPs.
• Assess student problems and refer as needed; liaise with families and healthcare professionals.
• Notify parents of illness or injury and secure emergency care when needed.
• Develop and implement IHPs and evaluate nursing care for medically fragile students.
• Advise and advocate for student health needs and safe school environment.
• Administer medications per district policy and maintain accurate records.
• Support mandatory screening programs and health education activities.
• May conduct home visits to assist student health issues.
