North Middlesex Regional School District is seeking an Health Office Staff Nurse at Hawthorne Brook Middle School in Townsend to support student health needs and collaborate with the Primary School Nurse in delivering comprehensive nursing services.

Immediate start, part-time position under Health Services supervision. Responsibilities include direct nursing care, health education, emergencies, and health documentation in accordance with MA guidelines and school policy.

Qualifications

• Current registered practical nurse license (LPN) through MA BORN.
• Demonstrated computer proficiency.
• Experience in School Health, Community Health, or Child and Adolescent Health preferred (minimum 2 years).
• Certified in CPR and First Aid.
• Familiarity with medical records privacy regulations (FERPA/HIPAA).
• Ability to communicate effectively in writing and verbally; clerical proficiency; sound judgment.

Responsabilités

• Assess the health needs of all students in the school setting.
• Provide direct health care within nursing scope to students and staff with injuries or illnesses; manage chronic conditions and regimens.
• Apply nursing theory to decision-making in school health; expand knowledge for student needs.
• Communicate with parents/guardians by phone, meetings, and in person.
• Respond to medical emergencies throughout the school building and grounds.
• Monitor immunizations; manage exclusions and re-entry for infectious diseases.
• Document all medical forms and maintain up-to-date health records.
• Administer medications per license scope and orders from a licensed provider.
• Coordinate mandated health assessments per district procedures.
