The Advent School in Beacon Hill, Boston, MA is seeking a part-time School Nurse to support health services for students in pre-K to 6th grade. The role involves on-campus presence for 16–20 hours weekly, including time at the front desk, and overseeing health policies and medication administration.

The ideal candidate holds an RN license with CPR/AED/First Aid certifications, maintains confidentiality, and communicates clearly with staff, families, and students to promote health and safety

Qualifications

• RN license required; pediatric experience preferred.
• Current CPR, AED, and First Aid certification required.
• Ability to be discrete and manage confidential information.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the school’s health policies and medication administration.
• Check students records annually, including physical forms and vaccination records.
• Keep thorough health records in the School’s database, including documenting the administration of medication.
• Manage administrative and compliance aspects of the Health Office, including health physicals, action plans, and vaccination records.
• Administer prescribed and over-the-counter medication on campus and train/oversee staff when nurse is off campus.
• Support teachers and staff in understanding students’ health and medical needs and emergency medications storage.
• Provide training to administrators and teachers regarding first-aid and health policies.
• Create and implement health education related to nutrition, growth, and personal care.
• Occasional front desk duties including answering calls and monitoring visitors.
