Omaha Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Paraprofessional, Library Aide to support Highland and Beals Elementary. The role focuses on helping library staff, assisting with instruction, and keeping the library organized and welcoming for students and staff.

The position requires an Associate's degree or equivalent coursework, strong computer skills, and the ability to collaborate with a diverse school community.

Qualifications

• An Associate's degree, OR completion of 48 semester hours or 72 quarter hours at an institution of higher learning, OR demonstrated proficiency in the ability to assist in the instruction of reading, writing and mathematics via state or locally approved competency test.
• Previous experience working in a public school or library setting preferred.
• Evidence of good mental and physical health; ability to collaborate as a team member; ability to follow directions.

Responsabilités

• Maintain a caring instructional climate by providing students with a positive, neutral environment.
• Assist library media teachers and support staff with instruction and data collection.
• Process and manage library materials, check in/out, notices, and inventory.
• Shelving, organizing shelves, and ensuring materials are in proper order.
• Assist with new materials processing, catalog records, labels, and barcodes.
• Support learning activities and help staff and students use digital tools.
