The role requires a high school diploma or GED and a CHRC check through the Maine Department of Education, with emphasis on sanitation, teamwork, and accurate record-keeping.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Criminal History Record check (CHRC) through the Department of Education.
• Good interpersonal relations with staff and students.
• Knowledge of sanitation procedures and kitchen safety.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing daily school meals on time according to a planned menu.
• Maintain high safety and cleanliness standards following sanitation guidelines.
• Help with temperature logs and cleaning schedules for equipment and kitchen space.
• Work scheduled hours and be a reliable team member.
• Assist with receiving shipments and proper storage of food/supplies.
• Support a friendly, student-centered cafeteria environment.
• Perform daily cleaning of kitchen facilities and equipment.
• Promote healthy eating and positive cafeteria atmosphere.
• Maintain cooperative relationships with staff and others contacted during work.
