Job summary

East Penn School District seeks a Health Room Nurse to assist the building nurse in providing wellness support to students. This 10-month, part-time role runs January through May, with roughly 10 hours per week (2:30 p.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday-Thursday; schedule may vary).

The position pays $29.95 per hour and requires current CPR/AED certification, PA RN or LPN licensure, and a PA driver’s license. Prior experience with school-aged children and clerical/computer skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• CPR and AED certification required.
• Current RN or LPN licensure in Pennsylvania.
• Pennsylvania Driver's License required.
• Experience with school-aged children preferred.
• Proficiency in basic clerical tasks and computer use.
• Must read, write and understand English.

Responsibilities

• Follow health room procedures per district standing orders for sick/injured students and staff.
• Provide emergency care when necessary.
• Inform building nurse of serious situations needing parent/physician contact.
• Administer medications per district policy.
• Coordinate with building nurse on health records and confidentiality.
• Maintain health room records and inform staff of student dispositions.
• Support the Director of Student Services and/or the building nurse as needed.
• Learn and perform new procedures for students with medical needs.
