Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice in Missouri as an LPN, RN, or BSN.
• Certified in CPR.
• Hepatitis B vaccine series.
• Ability to work under the direction of an RN.
• Ability to communicate cooperatively with others.
• Ability to multitask.
• Physically capable of assisting students with health care needs including lifting, positioning, transferring, restraining or transporting.

Responsibilities

• Direct Nursing Care Activities as delegated by Director of Health Services or RN: Promotes and protects the health status of children and documents health data.
• Develops and implements Individualized Health Plan(s) and Emergency Action Plans as directed.
• Maintains confidentiality under HIPAA and FERPA guidelines; supports a safe school environment.
• Administers medications according to district guidelines; provides medication delegation training to staff.
• Screens students and maintains health records; assists with health education and coordination of health activities.
• Direct Education and Assistive Activities: participates in educational health programs and provides escorts and assistance to students; collaborates with counselors and principals to identify problems.
