Job summary

Rochester Public Schools is seeking a Part-Time Health Office Nurse to provide expeditious care for student health, injuries, and illnesses. The nurse collaborates with medically delicate students and performs technical nursing duties under supervision.

The role requires an LPN or RN license in Minnesota, CPR/First Aid certification, and proficiency with electronic health records. 7 hours per day, 183 duty days per year, with HIPAA/FERPA confidentiality throughout.

Qualifications

• Current Minnesota LPN or RN license required.
• CPR and First Aid certification required.
• Proficient with electronic health records (EHR).
• Experience with children with special health needs.
• Experience managing chronic health conditions.
• Ability to engage effectively with staff at all levels.

Responsibilities

• Administer medications to students under licensed supervision per policy (including complex procedures).
• Assist in school screenings (vision, hearing) under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Collaborate with the licensed school nurse on services for students with special needs.
• Provide first aid and episodic care aligned with licensure.
• Collect and safeguard immunization data per state rules.
• Work with faculty to deliver healthcare services to students.
• Maintain accurate health documentation.
• Ensure HIPAA/FERPA confidentiality.
