Job summary

Fort Wayne Community Schools Health & Wellness Services in Fort Wayne, Indiana is seeking a part-time Health Aide to support the school clinic. You will assist the nurse with student health needs, basic first aid, and clerical tasks to promote health and wellbeing in the school community.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, with preferred certifications (CMA/Nurse Aide/EMT) and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Must possess a minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
• Certified medical assistant, nurse assistant, or EMT preferred.
• Have strong office, computer, oral & written communications skills.
• Must complete required CPR certification class upon hire and complete any training provided by FWCS Health and Wellness Services Department.

Responsibilities

• Assist Registered Nurse in meeting students' acute and chronic health care needs under direct supervision.
• Follow public health best practices to maintain safe school environments.
• Assist students with activities of daily living as assigned by the nurse.
• Perform clerical duties to support health-related activities and organize health programs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of student and staff encounters including medications and clinic visits.
• Assist with mandated health screenings and follow-up communications with families.
• Follow health and safety procedures and help maintain a clean health clinic area.
• Attend Health & Wellness Services meetings and complete required professional development.
• All duties performed under direct supervision of a registered nurse.
• Perform related duties as assigned to meet building needs.
