Job summary

The duties include maintaining supplies, cleaning spaces, performing preventive maintenance, assisting visitors, ensuring security, and coordinating with the Maintenance Director.

Qualifications

• Reads and interprets safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Writes routine reports and correspondence.
• Able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees.

Responsibilities

• Maintains inventory of custodial/maintenance supplies and equipment.
• Cleans and preserves designated spaces, equipment in the building.
• Performs preventive maintenance and minor repairs on plumbing, custodial equipment, and building structures.
• Performs operator adjustments and service to facility equipment.
• Performs minor electrical maintenance and repairs.
• Assists visitors with directions and setting up needed equipment.
• Schedules and assigns extra time for custodians as needed.
• Maintains building and grounds security by opening/closing daily; checks doors.
• Reports unauthorized individuals or activity to the proper authorities.
• Maintains work-related records and prepares reports.
• Shovels snow and cleans sidewalks as needed.
• Maintains confidentiality and professional appearance.
• Ensures regular attendance and completes duties as assigned.
• Promotes good public relations for the school district and community.
• Adheres to corporation policies and avoids alcohol or non-prescribed substances.
